Strategies for documentary storytelling and structure
Breaking down hours of footage that was shot with different characters, on different locations and at different times into a workable rough cut is one of the toughest exercises in documentary post-production when you don’t have a script. In this course you will learn the methods for how to get a handle onto your material by applying effective structure tools that help you to first find your structure and then to drive your story forward. This course is also helpful when you are in the process of developing a story because it will give you tools to organize and control your shooting while having the goal in mind to shoot what is essential without ending up with tons of material that won’t help you to tell the story.
