ScriptDC is the premiere conference for Mid-Atlantic filmmakers to achieve their creative dreams by connecting them with accomplished teachers, consultants and industry professionals.

VOTE for WIFV Nominations to National Film Registry
WIFV continues its multi-year campaign to have more women-made films represented in the National Film Registry.  The 2010 WIFV nominations are: 

The Big House (1930) written by Frances Marion;
The Painted Truck (1972) directed/produced by Judith Dwan Hallet and Stanley Hallet;
A League of Their Own (1992) directed by Penny Marshall:
Eve's Bayou (1997) written/directed by Kasi Lemmons

WIFV supports women in the industry by promoting equal opportunities, encouraging professional development, serving as an information network, and educating the public about women's creative and technical achievements.

2010 Women of Vision Announced
Patricia Aufderheide (AU Center for Social Media), Grace Guggenheim (Guggenheim Productions, Inc.) and Connie Day McClinton (Interface Media Group) will be celebrated with Women of Vision Awards on October 13, 2010 at the AFI Silver Theatre.  The Annual Women of Vision Awards honor women whose accomplishments have enriched both the profession and society with intelligence, talent and vision.  Tickets for the reception/awards ceremony are $65 Members/$75 public and available at www.wifv.org.

Women in Film & Video produces nearly 60 events per year, ranging from community outreach programs to professional development to pure networking. WIFV is a chapter of Women in Film & Television International (WIFTI), a network of nearly 40 chapters around the world.  Our members are new to the industry and media moguls.  Men are eligible for membership.

30 Years of Women Making Media in DC 
WIFV is delighted to undertake a multi-year video history to document the region's media makers.  The initial phase of this project is supported with an anniversary grant from the Humanities Council of Washington, DC.
