Kendra Louka produced and directed a feature film in January. “I did the thing! It was beyond fun. In December, I was able to set it all up, and the path unfolded to where it was able to happen. I even started a production company, LoukaRound Productions LLC, and set up a website. STANDBY FOR ALL CALL is a feature script I wrote based on my experience as a flight attendant. Directing was such a thrill as I worked with some talented actors (pictured). I want to thank WIFV for the exposure, in the fellowship last year, with all the industry professionals who I drew confidence and wisdom from. I even reached out to Anna Campbell before filming to share the excitement, and she was a super cheerleader. We are currently in post. I hope to screen the film locally before June.
My short film, HEART STRINGS, which was prompted for creation from ScriptDC’s short film “challenge” was accepted into the Indie Short Film Festival in Charlottesville in March. I’ll be going to that! I also plan to go to Lisbon next month for Filmapalooza for winning “Best of” Hampton Road’s 48 Film Project last August. Will keep you posted!”
