ScriptDC (November 30 - December 2, 2012) is the premiere conference for Mid-Atlantic writers and filmmakers to achieve their creative dreams by connecting them with accomplished teachers, consultants and industry professionals. Panelist bios are available here. This year ScriptDC will run concurrently with the Women in Film and Television International Summit!The weekend-full event included:
* Opening Night Screening of Europa, Europa followed by Q&A with writer/director Agnieszka Holland on November 30. Co-hosted by DC Jewish Community Center.
* Workshops for all skill levels — from beginner to seasoned pro.
* Dara Marks, in a rare East Coast appearance, taught both Inside Story and Engaging the Feminine Heroic.
* Screening of Amy Heckerling's new film, Vamps, followed by Q&A with producer Lauren Versel from Lucky Monkey Productions.
* Pitch critiques by industry professionals.
* Screenplay critiques after readings by local actors.
* Master class on Writing for the Web presented by the Writers Guild of America East.
* Master class on Crowd Funding presented by Thinking Forward Media.

Our featured writers, Allison Abner and Bob Girardi, shared how it was to work with Aaron Sorkin on The West Wing, and Girardi provided additional details about his experience as a staff writer for Judging Amy and Joan of Arcadia. Among the workshops presented: Writing for TV with award winning screenwriter, Ligiah Villalobos; How to Write Memorable Characters with Manager/Producer of Real Women Have Curves, Marilyn Atlas; How to Sell Your Work Using Social Media with The Media Goddess, Laurie Scheer; How to Write a Screenplay in 10 Weeks and How to Rewrite a Screenplay in 10 Weeks with Marilyn Horowitz. Screenwriters Gordy Hoffman (Love Liza) and Megan Holley (Sunshine Cleaning) critiqued the attendees' First Ten Pages.
